GR:JS Award Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, January 25 2005
The mobile version of Ghost Recon Jungle Storm that appeared on the N-Gage impressed us so much we called it remarkable when we published our review in June last year.
Now, 7 months later it is still being heralded as something special on the mobile scene as it has just picked up Gamespot's Reader's Choice Award for N-Gage Game of the Year 2004. If you have an N-Gage it really is worth a look.

WWIII Released Posted by Rocky on Thursday, January 20 2005
Mr Pibbs completed testing his last ever Ghost Recon and sent it in recently, the remarkable WWIII Fight For Freedom! The files are now ready for download, so get ready to enjoy a quite unique experience for Ghost Recon missions.
WWIII has been worked on long and very hard by Mr Pibbs to offer Ghost Recon fans something new, challenging and fun. The mission scripting that went into WWIII is complex and well worked, hopefully you'll agree all the effort by Mr Pibbs is reflected in the playability of the missions.
There are four versions to select from:-
WWIIIFFFGold v3.0 - all the missions + menu music - 115 MB
WWIIIFFFGoldNM v3.0 - all the missions - no menu music - 40 MB
WWIIIFFFGoldNMMac v3.0 - For Mac users - all the missions - no menu music - 40 MB
WWIIIFFFPart2 v3 - only the new 3 missions - 18 MB
If you previously download a v2.0 file please also install this tiny v3.0 patch.
As you can see Mr Pibbs has tried to accommodate everybody! After you have enjoyed the missions, please make sure you visit this discussion and leave some feedback for Mr Pibbs, this is his last Ghost Recon project, so say your thank you's and bid him well!

Trainride Posted by Rocky on Thursday, January 6 2005
"excellent... OUTSTANDING!!! ... WOW Deleyt, awesome job... Son of a (Censored)! That looks ### amazing ... the most innovative map/mod in a long time... That's insane ... revolutionary... Awesome stuff ..."
That's just a selection of comments that |rsi|™deleyt has received as feedback for his latest project, Trainride. Considering those comments came from long time Ghost Recon fans and experienced Ghost Recon modders, this is one hotly anticipated mod release!
There are seven pages of details on the progress of this exciting new mod that features moving trains to be found in our forums here, which includes many awesome screenshots, and even a movie. The original 23Mb movie by |rsi|™deleyt was encoded using the fraps decompressor so I've taken the liberty of shrinking the movie down to 1 Mb and encoded it for windows media player, can grab it from Fileplanet here.

EA and Ubi Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, January 4 2005
The Board of Directors at Ubisoft have issued the following statement through their corporate website.
"In light of recent news spread by the press, Ubisoft’s Board of Directors reiterates that, in the absence of information from the company Electronic Arts regarding its intentions, the latter’s acquisition of 19.9% of the group’s capital is unsolicited and currently considered as hostile. Moreover, it states that there are no negotiations between the two parties at present."
Discussion rages on in our forums here.

SnowFox Posted by Rocky on Tuesday, January 4 2005
Papa6 has reworked his original winter airbase mod and included a SnowFoxII firefight to enjoy it on. Once activated launch a multiplayer server and select the coop mission called Snowfox2. One thing I noticed right away was the Nvidia bug that produced huge snowflakes on Ghost Recon seems to have been fixed with the latest drivers, so if you suffered from that problem before, update your drivers and enjoy this retextured map! Download SnowFoxII here. |

1/4 of a Million! Posted by Rocky on Sunday, January 2 2005
It's a bit of a landmark occasion in our forums today, as we just passed the quarter of a million posts mark! That dubious honour goes to none other than long time forum member, GR.net Supporter and RAF 51 Squadron member ..... Mark Van Damme!
All those posts and over 7,000 members have signed up during the last 2 years almost to the exact day! In December 2002 we lost all our forum data and had to start from the beginning again with new forums installed by Super Bob. The first batch of posts were made here in the first week of January 2003, and now 2 years later to the week, Mark Van Damme made the 250,000th post right here!
I'd like to personally thank all the members and the forum moderators for making the forums such a great place to hang out, debate, and have a laugh - it's been an awesome 2 years! Here's to 2 more!
