For the next two weeks Ubisoft are making available an Assassin's Creed pack for Ghost Recon Online.

Ghost Recon Online fans need to keep an eye on Ubisoft's official GRO news page for special limited time offers.

The first Antique Edition weapons pack featured an old school pistol and shotgun, but they are no longer available. The second pack is out now and features an assualt rifle and a sniper rifle, but are only available for another 4 days, so don't hesitate if you want these weapons in your arsenal.

Ubisoft are introducing a new feature that will help new players to Ghost Recon Online et into the game and learn the ropes. The Beginners Playlist is an new feature to the games matchmaking system that will allow new players to restrict their games to other beginners, of level 5 or below. This is a great feature that will remove the frustration of playing against more experienced players all the time.

Secondly, there will be a special group of weapons released especially for Halloween that feature improved damage, read more about these spooky weapons here. Also make sure and check out the weekly weapon sale!

Winter maps were always a favourite with Ghost Recon fans, and now winter comes to Ghost Recon Online with the Arctic Pack, expected on September 12th.

The pack contains the largest map yet in Ghost Recon Online with both indoor CQB situations and outdoor environments.

For the next two Wednesdays, 3 new special arctic weapons will also be released, so make sure and check the Ghost Recon Online store on the 12th and 19th of September.

In a blow for Nintendo, Ubisoft have revealed they are dedicating all of their Ghost Recon Online resources on the PC version, pulling Ghost Recon Online from the Wii U launch line up.

Theo Sanders of Ubisoft also went on to say that it made more sense to have the one dedicated dev team concentrating on one format before moving on to another, and that more news on the Wii U version of Ghost Recon Online would be revealed in due course.

The official Ghost Recon Online website is currently down pending a big update with exciting news for Ubisoft's free to play shooter. Keep checking it for details on the upcoming open beta and the official release date for the full game.

At Gamescon on August 16th Ubisoft will be revelaing the latest build of Ghost Recon Online and inviting the press for a hands on experience of the upcoming free to play shooter. Additionally, Ubisoft will also be revealing previously unanounced free to play titles.

Ghost Recon Online has been subject to several closed beta testing sessions over the last few months and fans are getting impatient for the final release of this free to play shooter from Ubisoft.

Ghost Recon Online (GRO), Ubisofts Free to Play multiplayer shooter, is taking a few weeks off before a scheduled mid-June appearance with another round of beta testing.

GRO had developed quite a following during the previous beta testing stages and it's return in a few weeks with tighter balancing and the promise of some shiny new features is welcome news.
